Womyns'Ware Out and About

At the Georgia Straight Best of... Fete, August 2006

Ten years of winning awards doesn’t slow this Lady down! Once again, she took the lead on the dance floor and showed the rest of attendees how to shake what ya got! Dancing has always been a part of the “Celebration and Empowerment” for our Lady. She is not a big talker but she is always happy to meet new people (and new mascots, too!) After all was said and done, she waltzed off into the sunset along the boardwalk! A beautiful sight captured by photographer Philip Chin.

At the StoneWall Festival, June 2004

Always seen yourself as joyful and empowered as Womyns'Ware's dancing lady icon?! You had the chance to appear as she appears by visiting us during the Stonewall festival this past June, 2004.

Vancouver's Pride Society resurrected the Stonewall festival June 26, 2004 at Grandview Park. This urban park sits right on Commercial Drive, only a few blocks from Womyns'Ware Inc. In keeping with our past tradition, we invited patrons of the festival to visit us in our shop for all your sex toy needs while at the same time we operated our "Womyns'Ware Fantasy Photo Booth" as a fun event in the Park.

The Womyns'Ware Fantasy Photo Booth (that's our fabulous booth under construction in these photos ;-) offered the chance to record for posterity you living the life of our joyful, empowered dancing lady logo!! We captured you (your pets, your grand ma ...) on Polaroid posing as our lady, payment by donation with all proceeds to Breast Cancer Research.

Thanks to all who came out to enjoy the festivities! Commercial Drive's website thedrive.ca has a festival page on Stonewall for more information. Check out our fun pictures of the Lady in action!

Illuminares Lantern Procession at Trout Lake, 2004

There are some amazing community festivals in our neck of the woods, like the non-profit, resident organized summer eve festival of illumination - Illuminares 'Hundreds of paper lanterns are lit and music fills the air. See weaving serpents, birds in flight, planets in orbit, schools of fish, and creatures of the imagination, glowing and shimmering with music, fire sculptures, torch choreography and a fireworks finale.'  Where Womyns'Ware's dancing lady made her 2004 debut as a flaming lantern, lighting up the night in her purple, glowing glory!
