1-888-WYM-WARE

We opened our doors June 15, 1995, and haven't looked back. We wanted very much for our business to be part of the community we live in. Commercial Drive is one of the few areas left in Vancouver where independently owned shops predominate; there are very few chain stores in our neighborhood, and most of the people who own businesses here live in and are part of the community. Faithfully supported by local residents, these businesses also serve visitors from other parts of the city (and all over the world) who appreciate our neighborhood, a haven in the big city.

Shopping at Womyns'Ware is much like shopping at any boutique; we provide a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with places to rest both your feet and your senses. Our decorating scheme includes walls painted a relaxing "Taipei Orange" with "Sonata Wine" accents and forest green tiled floors. Beech fixtures display vibes, lubes, dills, Health products and condoms and a Sonata Wine 1950's sectional provides Leahy the Lab with a comfortable resting place. Dramatic drapes in Sonata Wine velvet with a Martini Glass relief hang from our metal sculpted change room, designed by the same artist who created our dancing lady window frame and other store signage. Take a virtual tour of our charming shop, if you'd like! Forget what you may have heard about stores that sell sex-related merchandise: Womyns'Ware is sunny, well-lit, and roomy. A knowledgeable sales staff is there to answer questions, or leave you alone, if you prefer. When you are buying a stereo, you want solid information about the components, how they will work with what you already have, and what elements you could add later. Why, then, is it so hard to find out which sex toys are versatile and reliable? Well, it's just gotten easier: you've found us!

Womyns'Ware Inc. is located in the east end of Vancouver, British Columbia, at 896 Commercial Drive (at Venables). Traditionally known as Vancouver's "Little Italy", the neighbourhood's flavour is a bit broader these days. Young families, senior citizens, gays, lesbians, musicians, artists and people whose politics tend to lean a little (or a lot) to the left all call "The Drive" home. Hours of Operation and Map to the store...

According to the Alan Berner of The Seattle Times (and see the photo gallery as well), "one big problem with taking a stroll around Vancouver's Commercial Drive district ... [too many good choices for shopping, entertainment, and dinning] ... Whew. As a wise sage might say, these are very nice problems to have. And the abundance of good choices, culinary and otherwise is actually one of the main reasons why a visit to this unique Vancouver neighborhood can be so enjoyable." Please come and see for yourself next time you're in Vancouver; as you probably already figured out, we are very proud of "The Drive". Check out TheDrive.net and TheDrive.ca for online guides to our nifty neighbourhood. B.C. Traveller's Summer 2000 issue has a great article on Commercial Drive. Read a PDF version of the story.
