A friendly line of playful vibes by Lelo, Picobongs are promoted with a Hawaiian theme in name, aquatic potential and their laidback lifestyle. The single AAA battery that powers them doesn’t allow for a super high setting but they perform much better on fresh batteries.

They all unscrew for battery insertion at the threaded seam where the silicone body meets the ABS plastic base, and have their control buttons on the side of the toy. Embossed into the silicone is the “picobong” script. Within the “p” you will see a minus sign and within the “b” a plus sign. These are your controls. A press with the finger tip (no nails) on “+” will start the vibration, press repeatedly to increase the intensity of the vibration, press the “-“ to turn it down. Press and hold “+” and the toy ramps up to its highest constant vibration setting. Press and hold “-“ and the toy powers down ultimately to off. When at the most intense level of constant vibration press and hold the “+” for two seconds and the toy moves into the programmed vibration modes, touching the “-“ at anytime puts you back into the constant vibration mode.

Primarily suited to external vibration, we should point out that you would need to choose your settings before experimenting with vaginal insertion since the control buttons are on the silicone “shaft” and so will be inside your vagina during use! Great for a playful aquatic adventure, a first time Candy Land treat, but not the most innovative toy in the design department, Picobongs are a fine sub for old-school classic egg-style vibes.

We strongly disagree with some of the printed use tips on the packaging such as the butt plug option as the controls would be inside the rectum and we fear that the housing can screw apart while in use. We also take issue with the penis ring promo since a hard plastic clamp and a penis isn’t an ideal combo for most users.

Here are the uses we do favour: Koa has a perfect shape for powering up silicone dildos like the Clip Capsule, and better yet a secure loop for removing her from the toys' hollow when it’s time for her to come out to play. The foot-pull on Tano makes for a great grip. Once the lube is flowing, these features are easier to handle than a bullet or lipstick style vibe. Kiki has a bit of a flat head for fuller clitoral contact and she’s versatile for inner labia insertion or lying across the clitoral hood. Honi keeps things real simple and makes a charming handbag or shower caddy companion.
