Here is the artists description of her works, in her own words: "The illustrative and fantastical series Dreadful in Truth, Kiryu Misao grew from a book on alternative fairy tales of the same name. While the book takes an almost abnormal approach, these drawings concentrate on the stories' persistence in today's context. Fetishes are our social secrets. The consumer market provides us with all kinds of products imaginable, or unimaginable, yet these desires and pleasures can only lurk around us silently. The other series Food for Thought, witty and whimsical, taps on the two of the most fundamental needs of human: nourishment and human connection. While the eyes can feast on the jewel-like renditions of different dishes or produce, the heart can savour the complementary messages. Who would have thought that a lime can taste so sweet?"
All pieces are individually priced and for those interested, the prints are limited edition prints. There are only 6 of each print and there will be no further printing of these drawings. They are Museum/Archival Quality which means they are printed on an acid free paper that will not degrade over time.
