Dills:
When cleaning silicone you are dealing with the surface only, so in most cases soap and water is sufficient. If you have any concerns about yeast infections, crossing from anal to vaginal use, or sharing toys, silicone dills can safely be boiled. Three minutes of boiling will kill anything.
When cleaning elastomer dills a mild antibacterial soap and water is sufficient (so long as the toys is restricted to one use or user!). Air or towel dry. The material has some porousness and for this reason we recommend one use (i.e.. Anal or vaginal, no crossing back and forth even after cleaning) and one user.
Vibes:
To clean silicone sheathed vibes, hot water and basic hand soap applied with a damp cloth will be fine. If the vibrator shaft or bullet is made of food grade vinyl, you need to remember that food grade vinyl is a material that absorbs body fluids and dissolves if exposed to oils. For this reason, we recommend using a toy cleaner, like Better Sex Essentials. You can dilute most cleaners 1 tbsp to 1 cup water and apply with a damp cloth. Rinse with clear water after using the cleaner. When cleaning elastomer vibes a mild antibacterial soap and water is sufficient. The material has some porousness, so be sure to rinse with clear water. Then air or towel dry. Other elastomer tips: it's an inert elastomer meaning it will not break down over time nor adhere to other toys. It can be easily cleaned for one use or user but should not be shared with out a condom. Silicone or water based lubricants are fine but oil based lubes should not be used. The oil will degrade the elastomer. When combining sex and massage remember that massage oils are just that - oil.
In all cases, never get water near electronic control panels or cords. If you can remove attachments and wash them separately, do so.
If you do accidentally get water in your battery compartment, take out the batteries and let the vibe air dry. A damp Q-tip dipped in baking soda is small enough to get into the battery compartment and baking soda neutralizes acid, so try this cleaning technique should battery corrosion occur.
Dildo Harnesses:
Leather, nylon and rubber harnesses can be hand washed with basic hand-soap and warm water. Hang to dry. Cleaning leather harnesses isn't too complicated, as long as you follow a few easy steps: (1)After each use wash with a mild soap and water. Do Not Soak; (2)Towel dry hardware to avoid rust (covering rivets with clear nail polish keeps water off) and hang to dry; (3) Restore the leather's natural oils. Do not use Dubin or Mink Oil, these are animal fats and can go rancid. Beware that wax based products will sit on the surface of the harness rather than be absorbed. This may result in the product ending up on you or your partner's genitals. We recommend a Vancouver manufactured product called Dayton OK Oil. You can restore the lustre of a rubber harness with a silicone lubricant such as Eros.
Butts:
Only silicone toys can be sterilised so that the toy can have multiple uses (i.e. both vaginal and anal) or users. Boil your silicone toys in a pot of water for three to four minutes before switching users or uses. Never share a non-silicone toy! Such anal toys, whether latex or otherwise, can be cleaned sufficiently for a sole user or use with antibacterial soap or Adult Play Toy Cleaner and hot water.
Bondage:
Leather, nylon and rubber gear can be hand washed with basic hand soap and warm water. After washing leather, you need to use a leather care product such as Dayton OK Oil to restore the natural oils. Don't use animal fat based products 'cause they'll rot stitching. You can restore the lustre of rubber gear with a silicone lube such as Eros.
