My vibe is warm (not too warm, but still I worry). What should I do?

It’s normal for ANY battery-operated device (flashlight, remote control, laptop, vibrator, etc.) to generate heat during operation. A warm vibe is fine. If your vibe becomes HOT, discontinue operation and troubleshoot. A vibe may become hot if operated for a long time under bedcovers, since all electronics need air ventilation to help them stay cool. Always follow the manufacturer’s specific instructions for operation, and keep in mind that common sense care for any conventional electronic device applies equally to your sex toy!

My trusty old vibe recently started making a high pitched squealing noise. It still vibes, but with the annoying high pitched sound.  Any suggestions as to what the problem is?

In all likelihood, the problem is that it’s wearing out.  Mechanically, the noise you describe might indicate a worn bearing or bushing, or a lack of lubrication. But this hardly matters, because it’s essentially impossible to open up the bullet, service the motor, and seal it up again. A classic vibrator works by spinning an out-of-balance weight, which makes the entire unit “wobble” like a washing machine with all the towels on one side of the tub, except a lot faster. That said, adding a sleeve can act like a muffler to dampen the sound.
